The Appalachian Conservation Film Festival (ACFF) hosted its inaugural Student Day at the Frank Arts Center, engaging over a hundred students from Shepherdstown Middle School, Jefferson High School, and Frederick County Career and Technology Center. Festival director Hilary Lo emphasized the initiative's long-standing goal to involve public school students in environmental filmmaking. Students participated in film screenings, including award-winning shorts, and discussions led by industry professionals like Larry Cumbo and Grace Eggleston. The event highlighted local environmental themes and featured films dedicated to prominent figures like the late Marty Martin, a respected expert on timber rattlesnakes.
