Ranson Civic Center Hosts Annual Snow-Ball for Local Kids

Annual “Snow-Ball” raises funds for Boys and Girls Club

The annual 'Snow-Ball' dance, organized by Key Clubs from Jefferson and Washington high schools, successfully raised funds for the local Boys and Girls Club at the Ranson Civic Center. Spearheaded by Washington High senior Kayla Holloman, who drew inspiration from the club's initiatives for children, this year’s event sold around 150 tickets initially, with more sold at the door. With nearly $15,000 raised over the past three years, the funds directly support programming for kids in the area, including summer activities and field trips. The dance not only fosters school spirit between the two high schools but also gives younger students a chance to enjoy a formal event, emphasizing community involvement that Holloman hopes will continue beyond her graduation, as plans are set for underclassmen to take over the project.
