Bee Line Chapter Commemorates Washington Patriots at Harewood
The women of the Bee Line Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) held a significant ceremony at Harewood Estate near Charles Town, honoring Eugenia Washington, a founder of the DAR, alongside Samuel and Thornton Washington as Patriots of the American Revolution. The event drew around 120 attendees, including descendants from the Washington family and various lineage society representatives, reflecting the area's rich historical connections. The ceremony featured processions, speakers commemorating the sacrifices of the Washingtons, and dedication of historical markers while emphasizing the importance of patriotism and community engagement.
