38th annual Bernie Hutzler Golf Classic breaks fundraising goal to support local patient care

The 38th Annual Bernie Hutzler Golf Classic, held at The Woods Golf Course in Hedgesville, exceeded its fundraising goal of $92,000, benefiting local healthcare at WVU Medicine facilities. The event attracted 220 golfers and raised funds for crucial projects including a new Cancer Infusion Center and patient safety enhancements at Berkeley Medical Center. Mark O’Hern, CEO of WVU Hospitals East, praised the community's generosity, while Teresa McCabe highlighted the longstanding impact of the tournament, which has raised over $2 million to improve patient services over the years. The next tournament will take place at The Club at Cress Creek in Shepherdstown on June 1, 2026.
