On October 7, a team of traffic engineers, urban planners, and local officials, including mayors from Charles Town and Ranson, examined potential extensions for a walking and biking trail along Route 9. This study, led by the Hagerstown/Eastern Panhandle Metropolitan Planning Organization, seeks to connect local towns to improve accessibility and promote a healthier lifestyle among residents. With hopes of linking to the Augustine Avenue Trail in Charles Town, this initiative aims to benefit residents like those in the Huntfield housing development by enhancing transportation options and supporting local business growth.
