The Independent Observer reports that the Jefferson County Planning Commission will meet on February 25 at 7 pm at the Charles Town Library to discuss the preliminary plat for the Birdhill Meadows subdivision in Kearneysville. This review follows the prior approval of a concept plan for 720 homes on 195 acres, which raised concerns among neighbors regarding density, buffer zones, and traffic flow onto Route 480. The first phase of the project, featuring 219 housing units, will be examined during this meeting, and a follow-up public hearing is anticipated for fall 2025.
