The Robert C. Byrd Center for Congressional History and Education at Shepherd University has welcomed new leadership, aiming to enhance understanding of Congress and democracy. Zach Dougherty, now the Director, brings significant experience in civic engagement, while Melanie Garvey joins as Archivist, and Patrick Fuller as Programs Assistant. The new team, with roots in local education, is committed to advancing the Center’s mission with activities around civic interaction and public history, ensuring the legacy of figures like Senator Byrd is celebrated in the community.
