Severe storms impacted Charles Town on Wednesday evening, leading to the evacuation of Charles Towers, an apartment building housing around 90 residents. The Interim City Manager, Alissa Meeks, reported significant damage across different areas, particularly starting at the west end of the city near the former Thomassen Ford site and extending toward Jefferson Memorial Park. The National Weather Service had issued a severe thunderstorm warning, with the storm causing high winds and approximately 2.25 inches of rain.
