Charles Town Now voices concerns about historic buildings at Jefferson County Commission

At a recent meeting, Charles Town Now expressed concerns to the Jefferson County Commission regarding the preservation of historic buildings in Charles Town as the commission plans to repurpose two former university buildings in Ranson for governmental use. Liz Cook, from Charles Town Now, emphasized the significance of developing a redevelopment plan to enhance the downtown area, while council member Micheal George urged immediate action to formulate that plan to avoid losing valuable time. In response, the commission announced a workshop scheduled for July 17, aiming to foster community engagement in the decision-making process regarding the future of local properties, as highlighted by The Journal.
