African American Culture and Heritage Festival returns for 31st year

The 31st annual African American Culture and Heritage Festival brought together residents of Charles Town to celebrate local music, history, and community pride. The parade, organized by the Jefferson County African American Culture and Heritage Festival Inc., featured high school bands and community organizations, with this year's grand marshal, coach Shannon A. Layton of Spring Mills High School, recognized for leading his team to a basketball championship victory in 2025. This event showcased the region's rich cultural heritage and united the community in festive celebration.
