A severe storm struck Charles Town and Ranson on Wednesday evening, causing over 2.25 inches of rain and damaging roofs in the area. Emergency services evacuated residents from the Charles Towers Apartments, where a part of the roof was at risk. The Independent Fire Company responded to numerous calls for downed trees and power lines, while the city opened a shelter at the Ranson Civic Center for those affected.
