In a recent meeting, the Charles Town City Council was urged by Summit Point resident Mary Gee to oppose three proposed transmission line projects running through the area. These projects, which include the Mid-Atlantic Resiliency Link and Valley Link, aim to supply energy to data centers in Loudoun County, Virginia, without providing any benefits to local residents. Gee highlighted the potential risks, including loss of homes and damage to historic sites, schools like South Jefferson Elementary, and parks such as Willingham-Knolls. The council plans to draft a resolution to voice opposition to these plans, echoing previous successful efforts against similar projects.
