The Spirit of Jefferson reports that the historic courthouse in Charles Town will cease judicial operations within a few years, following the purchase of a new facility for $6.95 million. This change, aimed at consolidating judicial services including the Prosecuting Attorney’s office and a new day reporting center, reflects a significant shift in local governance while preserving the town's historical legacy. The new building, located at 330 N. George St., will continue to house essential county functions, ensuring seamless access to justice for residents.
