The Jefferson County Commission has finalized its purchase of two significant buildings from the American Public University System ahead of schedule, allowing for the potential relocation of meetings to the new government center by summer's end. This $23.5 million acquisition, located at 393 N. Lawrence St. and 330 N. George St. in Charles Town, is seen as a monumental step for local governance. Commission President Pasha Majdi and Commissioner Cara Keys expressed their enthusiasm over this swift completion, especially after securing a $16 million bond with favorable terms, paving the way for enhanced community services.
