At a recent Board of Education meeting, the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) in Charles Town presented a record-setting check of over $90,000 for the Shoe and Coat Fund, significantly surpassing last year's total by $30,000. Since their involvement began in the 1980s, JROTC has consistently supported this initiative, which aims to provide winter clothing and footwear for local students in need. Group commander Travis Jenkins emphasized the importance of service within the JROTC program, highlighting their opportunity to give back to the community. Fundraising activities included engaging challenges and events that rallied local support, culminating in a successful check presentation to at-risk educational program coordinator Alexander White.
