The Spirit of Jefferson reports that the Charles Town Library has introduced a new assistive technology for the visually impaired, dyslexic individuals, and those with reading difficulties. Thanks to the efforts of Keryl Rustin and funding from the National Federation of the Blind’s Eastern Panhandle Chapter, the library has acquired an iPad equipped with specialized applications designed to enhance the reading experience for those facing these challenges. The technology has evolved significantly, becoming more accessible and cost-effective, allowing users to better engage with reading and information gathering.
