Preliminary results from the Charles Town Municipal Election indicate that Mike George is poised to become the city's next mayor, capturing approximately 55% of the vote. With a long-standing history as a council member and resident, George outperformed opponents Joseph Burwell, who received 171 votes, and former council member Michael Tolbert with 81 votes. Additionally, Nate Hartman secured the contested Ward 3 seat, defeating Courtney Knill by a margin of 321 to 238, according to The Spirit of Jefferson.
