The NAACP's Jefferson County chapter is set to organize a Martin Luther King Jr. Day march in Charles Town on Monday, marking its second consecutive event since resuming activities after a hiatus due to the pandemic. The march, starting at 1:30 p.m. from the Jefferson County Museum, will feature local speakers including Dr. Delores Foster, promoting themes of inner peace while celebrating the legacy of King. This event honors the county's rich civil rights history and past traditions, dating back to 1973. Attendees will walk along Washington Street to Jefferson County Ministries, reflecting on significant local landmarks, such as the historic Page-Jackson High School.
