The Jefferson County Museum, directed by Lori Wysong in Charles Town, is unveiling a new exhibit featuring five cases of artifacts that span from the Archaic period to the Early Republic era. These historical items highlight Native American habitation, colonization, and the arrival of Europeans and Africans in Virginia, as well as connections to events like the American Revolution. The effort is aimed at showcasing the rich local history and events that have shaped the region long before notable incidents such as John Brown's raid at Harpers Ferry.
