Charles Town's Old Opera House Presents a Unique 'Nutcracker'

A classic, with a twist: Old Opera House's annual showing of 'The Nutcracker' to open Friday

The Old Opera House in Charles Town will present a reimagined version of the holiday classic ballet “The Nutcracker” starting this Friday. Directed by Christina Franz, the performance features an innovative twist, moving away from the traditional Kingdom of Sweets to a land of Peace and Harmony. This year marks the tenth anniversary of Franz’s stewardship of the production, involving around 90 dancers from the Old Opera House dance studio. With two casts alternating performances, the red cast kicks off the show on Friday evening, followed by the green cast on Saturday, allowing dancers to explore diverse roles, enriching the local arts scene this festive season.
