Charles Town Council Approves Outdoor Alcohol Consumption Zone

Charles Town Council passes outdoor drinking, looks to expand zone to new park

The Charles Town Council has approved a new ordinance allowing outdoor alcohol consumption in the historic downtown area, enabling patrons to enjoy alcoholic beverages from licensed restaurants and bars within a designated zone. This area, called a 'private outdoor designated area' (PODA), will be active during specific hours on weekends and weekdays. Additionally, Councilman Jeff Hynes is advocating to expand the zone to include a newly acquired park, where an alcohol-related event is planned for April. This initiative reflects ongoing efforts to enhance the local dining and social scene.
