Jefferson County Citizens encourage residents to oppose transmission line projects

At a town hall in Charles Town, residents rallied against the Mid-Atlantic Resiliency Link (MARL) and Valley Link transmission line projects that threaten homes, farms, and businesses. Led by community members including Mary Gee, Keryn Newman, and Robin Huyett Thomas, the meeting emphasized alternative ways to oppose the project through the West Virginia Public Service Commission, rather than responding to federal agencies. With hopes of collective action, participants were encouraged to join efforts to protect their properties from potential loss, highlighting the necessity of community solidarity amid ongoing federal planning processes.
