Alvin Mills, a Charles Town native and 1969 high school graduate, reflects on his service in Vietnam as the last Jefferson County draftee. Trained as an engineer specializing in heavy equipment, he cleared dangerous jungles and engaged in combat during his nearly year-long deployment.
