MARTINSBURG – Local agencies, in collaboration with the West Virginia Coalition to End Homelessness, will conduct a homelessness survey from January 29-30. Volunteers are needed to assist with the count, which aims to assess individuals and families experiencing homelessness across Berkeley, Morgan, and Jefferson counties. Last year's count revealed 27 homeless individuals in areas like Charles Town and Ranson. With the goal of gathering more accurate data, volunteers will work in shifts to engage with the homeless community, while donations of essential items can be made at the Telamon Corporation Office. Organizers stress the importance of community awareness and support, showcasing efforts to improve services for those in need.
