The Charles Town Utility Board (CTUB) recently showcased its major upgrades to the Wastewater Treatment Facility during an open house, emphasizing improvements made to better serve the approximately 9,000 residents of Charles Town. The facility, operational for nearly 40 years, underwent a $12.1 million upgrade funded through various sources including the West Virginia Water Development Authority. Improvements included new digester mixing systems and expanded facilities, which aim to enhance wastewater treatment processes. With the project completed smoothly under the leadership of CTUB general manager Kristen Stolipher, the community can now enjoy increased efficiency and technology in their essential services.
