Dana Marie Phillips, a 53-year-old from Charles Town, was sentenced to prison following her conviction for forging a public document in a scheme to create a fraudulent business. Initially indicted on multiple counts of forgery, she pleaded guilty to one count and received a sentence ranging from two to ten years. The investigation began after a tip from Jefferson Security Bank led authorities to uncover that Phillips had forged documents for a victim who believed she was filing legitimate business paperwork.
