Citizens Fire Company Celebrates Achievements in Charles Town

Members of the Citizens Fire Company gathered at the Moose Lodge in Charles Town for a celebratory dinner, recognizing a year of diligent service to the community. Fire Chief Larry Herbst reported over 1,000 emergency responses and significant training hours, along with the announcement of a $275,000 AFG grant for new equipment. Awards were presented to outstanding members, including Tucker Campbell as Probationary Firefighter of the Year and Larry Slusher as Firefighter of the Year. President Ronald Fletcher acknowledged exceptional contributions from members, presented his award to Slusher and Jason Marcus, and celebrated Buck Willingham's remarkable 75 years of service. The event culminated in the swearing-in of new officers by Jefferson County Commissioner Cara Keys, marking another milestone for the organization.
