On May 3, the Color Guard of the General Adam Stephen Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution participated in a significant event at Harewood, marking the graves of Samuel Washington and his son, Thornton Washington, in collaboration with the Bee Line Chapter of the DAR. This historic site, still under the ownership of the Washington family, adds a layer of cultural significance, having been the venue for the 1794 marriage of James and Dolly Madison. The event showcased local historical dedication, with Color Guard members including Commander Steve Englebright and various others, highlighting community involvement in preserving heritage.
