In a recent meeting held in Charles Town, the Jefferson County Commission elected Pasha Majdi as president and Mike Mood as vice president. The commission also deliberated on creating a new obscenity ordinance after the previous one was repealed for failing to comply with state laws. Commissioner Jack Hefestay emphasized the need for the new ordinance to better protect children while ensuring it respects community values, including those of the LGBTQ+ community. The commissioners agreed to seek options to improve the current legislation and thanked community members for their input on the matter.
