WVDEP Looking For Public Input This Week for PFAS Action Plans in Eastern Panhandle

The Panhandle News Network reports that the WVDEP, along with the West Virginia Rivers Coalition and other local organizations, is hosting community meetings in towns such as Harpers Ferry, Charles Town, and Martinsburg from September 29 to October 2. These meetings aim to inform residents about PFAS contamination in public drinking water systems and gather input to help formulate effective action plans as mandated by the PFAS Protection Act. Community participation is vital as PFAS chemicals have already been detected in several local water systems, potentially affecting health, and the meetings will also provide essential information on mitigating these risks.
