The Spirit of Jefferson reports that the Jefferson County Commission is grappling with significant expenses related to the legal troubles of former commissioners Tricia Jackson and Jennifer Krouse. With estimates exceeding $100,000, the commission has voted to cover $13,471.50 in legal fees for Prosecuting Attorney Matt Harvey, who successfully defended against an ethics complaint brought by Jackson. The complaint alleged misconduct during Harvey's involvement in the removal proceedings against Jackson and Krouse, but the disciplinary board found no violations of professional conduct.
