At the Jefferson County Tourism Summit, Steven Keith, also known as 'The Food Guy,' emphasized the growing importance of culinary experiences in travel, highlighting that over 60% of food enthusiasts plan their trips around dining options. With West Virginia emerging as a travel destination again post-COVID, Keith noted that restaurants are now the primary focus for travelers of all ages. He called on local communities—from Charles Town to Harpers Ferry—to support and promote their culinary scenes, which reflect unique heritage and culture and help draw visitors to the area’s diverse attractions, including historical sites and events.
