Plan For Data Center Complex Near Kearneysville Approved

A new data center campus is set to be built near Kearneysville, encompassing a 300-acre site that straddles both Jefferson and Berkeley counties. The Berkeley County Planning Commission has approved plans for two data center buildings, infrastructure, and additional facilities on 90 acres, while the remaining 191 acres in Jefferson County are zoned for industrial use. Sold in July 2024 to IB10 Martinsburg LLC, the site will benefit from access to utilities and is positioned to meet rising demand from local businesses. As development progresses, QTS, the company behind the project, aims to enhance operations in the region, signaling opportunities for economic growth and job creation in the area.
