On Dr. Seuss Day, Washington High School’s DECA students traveled to T.A. Lowery Elementary in Shenandoah Junction to engage young learners through reading. During the event, students read Dr. Seuss books, distributed themed hats, and interacted with pre-K classes, showcasing the importance of community involvement and the potential for future careers in education. DECA advisor Diane Lewis, with her four years of mentorship, encourages real-world skills and connections, fostering a spirit of service that benefits both high schoolers and elementary students alike. This initiative highlights the value of community engagement in local educational environments.
