In a shocking incident in Berkeley Springs, a home invasion resulted in the shooting of Deputy Bradley Meacham of the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department. Responding to a burglary call, Meacham was shot four times by Melvin Gallion, who had also shot two dogs during the break-in. The deputy, newly transferred from the Ranson Police, was treated for his injuries at War Memorial Hospital. This event underscores ongoing safety concerns for law enforcement in our local communities, including Ranson and nearby areas.
