Harpers Ferry National Historical Park is set to host a free concert on August 8 at 7 p.m. to celebrate the legacy of jazz legend Don Redman, who attended Storer College in nearby Harpers Ferry. The event features original jazz arrangements performed by the Appalachian Chamber Music Festival alongside the Howard Burns Quartet, taking place on the scenic lawn by the Mather Training Center. Attendees can enjoy this musical tribute while engaging with the historical significance of Redman's contributions to jazz and the educational heritage of Storer College, the first higher education institution for African Americans in the area.
