Doug Perks, a venerable historian of the Jefferson County Museum, has dedicated over 20 years to preserving and promoting local history. At 77, he reflects on his journey from a young book lover at Wright Denny Intermediate School to his various roles, including directing the county library and active involvement with historic commissions in Charles Town, Shepherdstown, and Harpers Ferry.
