In the fight against the substance abuse epidemic, local residents can play an active role by participating in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. Set for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., collection sites including the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, Shepherdstown Police Department, and Berkeley Springs Police Department will provide a secure way to dispose of unneeded medications, thereby reducing the risk of misuse. The event not only promotes public safety but also coincides with spring cleaning, encouraging residents to clear out expired prescriptions. This initiative is crucial for communities like Ranson and Harpers Ferry, where drug addiction poses significant challenges, making it essential for everyone to contribute to community health and safety.
