A severe storm in Shepherdstown caused the collapse of a historic 22-year-old eagle nest at the National Conservation Training Center, watched by local classrooms via a live camera for two decades. Tragically, the three eaglets inside did not survive the 90-foot drop. While this incident mourned by the community, including local schools and residents who engaged with the Eaglecam, the NCTC remains optimistic as the adult eagles built a second nest last year and were unharmed, hinting at future nesting opportunities.
