Economic Outlook predicts West Virginia stable

During the Eastern Panhandle Economic Outlook session held at Hollywood Casino, John Deskins from West Virginia University highlighted West Virginia's economic stability, particularly in areas like Charles Town and its surrounding counties. Despite the challenges posed by high inflation and a declining labor force participation rate, the region maintains positive job growth, with new residents moving in. Deskins identified key issues affecting economic development, such as education levels and access to childcare, but emphasized the continuing strong growth in the Eastern Panhandle, distinct from the slower rates seen in other parts of the state. The findings are pertinent for local residents and businesses aiming to navigate the post-pandemic economic landscape.
