Local schools in Allegany County are closed, and officials are particularly concerned for campers near the rivers as evacuation efforts are underway. The situation has proved tragic, with the recent discovery of a boy's body in Central Virginia who was swept away by floodwaters. Governor Glenn Youngkin urges vigilance as storms continue, prompting first responders like the Blue Ridge Mountain Fire Company to remain on high alert.
