Prinsea Rolanda Star Hill, a former aide at C.W. Shipley Elementary in Charles Town, pleaded guilty to battery against a disabled child in her classroom. Following the incident in April 2024, Hill expressed remorse, claiming her actions were in reaction to the child striking her. After a request from the defense, the court agreed to a deferred adjudication process, which may reduce her felony charge to a misdemeanor if she completes three years without further legal issues. The child’s mother, in an impact statement, highlighted the emotional distress experienced by her child, prompting the court to seek accommodations for the affected student and a potential meeting between Hill and the child for an apology. Hill is set to return to court in April 2028 for the outcome of the adjudication.
