Girl Scouts Launch Sammy the Seed Library in Charles Town

Girl Scouts help grow a better community with Sammy the Seed Library

A recent meeting of the Charles Town Rotary Club featured Girl Scouts from Troop 15125, who introduced the Sammy the Seed Library, an innovative project aimed at promoting gardening and protecting local pollinators like bees. Inspired by local business owner Mara Bauserman, the initiative allows community members in Charles Town to borrow and donate seeds, reinforcing environmental awareness and community engagement. The Scouts hope the library encourages gardening in the area and draws more visitors to downtown, while a new community garden is also in the works behind Bauserman's store, Spotlight on Main. The project is part of their Silver Award efforts to serve the community and advocate for endangered species.
