Good Shepherd Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers, founded in 1990 by local churches, continues to offer essential services like transportation and medical equipment lending in Shepherdstown and surrounding areas. Despite a reduction in staff due to the pandemic and funding issues, the organization remains dedicated to helping those in need, particularly in addressing the rising demand for medical transportation and combating social isolation. Executive Director Paula Marrone-Reese encourages community support as the nonprofit seeks additional volunteers and donations to maintain its vital services, often relying now on outreach beyond its founding churches.
