This fall, six schools from the Eastern Panhandle, including those in Charles Town and Ranson, along with 13 nonprofits in the area, were awarded a total of over $99,900 in grants from the Eastern West Virginia Community Foundation. These funds, allocated for creative initiatives in art, music, and nature, come from the Detlev and Mary Ellen Preissler Fund, established in 2022 to honor the legacy of a Harpers Ferry architectural designer. The projects funded aim to enrich the local community, showcasing the Foundation's commitment to supporting educational and cultural development.
