Halltown Memorial Chapel Association receives grants

The Halltown Memorial Chapel Association has announced a grant of $2,438 from the Eastern West Virginia Community Foundation's Two Rivers Giving Circle Fund to aid in restoring the historic Halltown Colored Free School and Chapel. This funding will facilitate critical electrical infrastructure, paving the way for further restoration efforts, and fostering a deeper understanding of African-American heritage from the late 19th and early 20th centuries in the community. The project aims to connect local residents and visitors with vital aspects of their cultural history through the preservation of these landmarks.
