Due to severe weather conditions on January 7, 2025, schools in the region, including those in Harpers Ferry and Charles Town, are closed for the day, and various after-school activities have been canceled. Washington County Public Schools, along with Frederick County and Morgan County institutions, have announced closures. The Maryland State Highway Administration's workshop on pedestrian safety planned for Hagerstown has been postponed to January 13. Residents in the area are urged to remain cautious as the storm continues, according to Herald-Mail Media.
