After 18 years of ownership and years of halted developments due to various challenges, plans for a new hotel resembling the original one from 1914 have been approved, although construction has yet to begin amid increasing costs. The property, which has been closed to the public since the hotel was demolished, is located on Columbia Street and aims to revitalize the area's historical significance, highlighting local efforts to enhance tourism and preserve heritage as reported by The Journal.
