The West Virginia Department of Tourism has announced the addition of six new sites to the National Register of Historic Places, including the Jacob Folk House near Shepherdstown. This house, built in 1860, exemplifies mid-19th-century architecture. Other significant sites include the Carter G. Woodson School in St. Albans and two notable bridges spanning the Cacapon River in Morgan County. These listings, reflecting the state's diverse cultural heritage, are part of ongoing efforts to recognize and celebrate West Virginia's historic landmarks, according to WBOY 12 News.
