Hospice of the Panhandle recently honored its dedicated volunteers at a luncheon in Kearneysville, celebrating their essential contributions to patient care and community support. Volunteer Services Manager Katrina Stevens and CEO Nikki Bigiarelli highlighted the organization's significant growth, with over 1,300 patients receiving care this year and a notable expansion in their palliative care program. Among the esteemed volunteers recognized was Nan Johnson, awarded Volunteer of the Year for her exceptional commitment since joining in 2016, inspired by her father's experience at the hospice. The event showcased the impact of community service in enhancing the lives of patients and their families throughout the region.
